It makes for a lot more work, but in the end, the night of gift giving is something we all really look forward to.
I don’t think the ‘buying experiences’ is a good idea. I’ve done that before and have received such gifts myself – it never works out. Either the gift requires a time commitment that the receiver can’t do, or it is just an experience that the receiver isn’t interested in. (Never gift a sky-diving lesson to anyone – ever. :) )
